Ciara

The last session I had the pleasure of doing was Ciara. So, the plan was to go to Forest Park to do her session. I figured it would be perfect for her. Then I found out that there was an outdoor concert that day. Plus, tack on the fact that it was a Saturday afternoon in the middle of wedding season? Please. I didn’t think twice about moving to a new location. So, I figured, “Hey! Tower Grove Park will be fabulous!” And it would have been. Except we didn’t know about the Festival of Nations. Agggh! So, I’m driving down Arsenal and thinking “Where am I going to take her?” Ding ding ding! Wash U campus. And it was fantastic. And sort of perfect, since Ciara is going to be a senior next year and going to do some of her Senior Session at a college campus makes a bit of sense. So, despite our wild goose chase to find a location, it turned out great. Ciara was a natural. We had a fantastic time and she turned out some simply gorgeous images.

Enjoy the third and final (for now) installment with my nieces…

I can’t wait to do your Senior Session Ciara. It’s going to be fabulous.

Chelsea

Okay, so photo session number two was Chelsea, my emo/punky gal. We headed out for some gritty urban fun, and went down to the graffitti wall and the train tracks. And what an awesome session we had. It was fabulous. I was excited to shoot Chelsea, because I knew she would rock the location I chose, and I was right. This girl is simply beautiful without even trying. Stunning eyes, but you’ll see that soon enough. She was game for anything and was also on the lookout for cool places to try some things, which I always appreciate. Loved this session, and probably could have camped out there all day.

Check them out….

See, rocked it.  Thanks for being awesome Chelsea. I had a blast.

Courtney

So, last weekend I had the pleasure of taking my three beautiful nieces out for individual photo sessions. It was amazing to me to see just how much these girls have grown and changed over time. I met all three of them shortly after I started dating Seth, over 10 years ago. So, as you can guess, I’ve seen a lot of change. And they couldn’t be more different from each other if they tried. I enjoyed thinking about each girl and what place would be best for them, because as you’ll see, it was not a one size fits all kind of shoot. Which is just the way I wanted it. It was fun to talk with them and have some un-interupted aunt/niece time, which we don’t get very often.
The first session I had was with the youngest, Courtney. And what a wonderful way to start it off. We headed out to Thornhill at Faust Park, where I got to have some fun with the little sassy free spirited girl. I had no idea what I was going to get when we started and BAM, girl throws out some simply GORGEOUS images. So…please enjoy.

I told you they were gorgeous. Thank you Courtney.

The fabulous Indiana State Fair

The fam and I made a trip back home this past weekend for the Indiana State Fair. Now, I haven’t been since I was a kid and I must confess… the reason I really wanted to go? I was looking at an issue of Indianapolis Monthy and there was a piece on the State Fair. With a photo of corn dogs that looked ah-MAZING. So, that’s why I wanted to go to the fair. Oh, and becuase I thought Noah might, MIGHT, have a good time.
So, we packed it up, invited our friends the Clarks and headed for the Fairgrounds. And was it something special. I have never seen so many fried foods in one place, it was insane. And also incredibly tempting. But I was good and didn’t get the fried butter (which I thought about, just because I was curious), the donut cheeseburger, the chocolate cover bacon or a plethora of other artery clogging amazingness. I did, however, get what I went for. The corn dog. And it was just as amazing as it looked in the magazine.
So, take a sec (or two. There are a lot of photos) and Noah and Seth’s first trip (and my first trip in many many years) to the State Fair was all about.

Ayyyyye batter batter…

We celebrated Seth’s birthday with a little cake and a lot of batter. Seth, however, refused to take part in the batter. Scrooge. What’s better that yellow cake batter? A lot of yellow cake batter. And that’s what we had. So, after that ridiculous amount of cake batter, we took a walk. So…enjoy some photos of the cake batter and the walk after.

Yes, we had cake batter with beers. Interesting combo, yet somehow we couldn’t stop.

No, Natalie didn’t ACTUALLY eat the cake batter.

Yes, Zach did have a BOWL of batter and a beer.

And now on to some pretty things.

And that’s it from the vacation. Hope you enjoyed, because we sure did.

The Epicurious Gypsy - Gorgeous shots lady!
